4ply wool 3 x 50g second colour Circular needles 3.75 and 3mm Gauge 7 stitches and 7 rows per inch Size Small, (medium, large) Row 1 Cast on 253, (267, 281) stitches using 3mm needles and main colour Row 2 – 10 K1, p1 to create a rib pattern (repeat this row 10 times) Row 11 – 12 Using 3.75 needles knit in stocking stitch two rows in main colour Row 13 Using second colour (knit 1 slip 1 purl wise), repeat until the end of round. Row 14 Using second colour Knit all second colour stitches, and slip all the main colour stitches Row 15 – 18 Using second colour Knit all stitches. Row 19 Using main colour (knit 1 slip 1 purl wise), repeat until the end of round. Row 20 Using main colour Knit all main colour stitches, and slip all the second colour stitches Row 21– 24 Using main colour Knit all stitches. Rows 13 – 24 create the pattern for the base of the vest. Repeat until your garment is the length required. Start your armholes, ending on row 20 of the pattern. Note: If you find your work curls it will lie flat after washing or blocking your finished garment.
